RDC help

Errors can sometimes arise when logging in to RDC via the browser. The most common errors are listed here with their solutions.

Problem: I have forgotten my code word or I have no identification.

Ask your System Administrator.

Problem: After entering identification, code word and database, RDC does not start and I receive an error message instead.

Ask your Sytem Administrator.

Problem: When I try to open a second session of the home page, an empty first session appears.

If you are using Netscape Navigator 4.5 and Internet Explorer 5 you can have two sessions at the same time, one in each browser. You cannot have more than one session in the same browser.

Problem: I have exited from RDC because the screen was frozen and there was no other way of closing the application. But when I click again on Login the frozen screen reappears.

The browser is loading the blocked page from its intermediate storage.

Solution:

1. Close all browser windows (Activate a browser window and click Alt+F4).

2. Restart the browser

3. Empty the intermediate storage:

To empty the Netscape Navigator 4.7 intermediate storage:

1. Select Edit > Preferences in the main menu.

2. Click Clear History.

3. Click Clear Location Bar.

4. Using the left side, click the Plus on the left of Advanced.

5. Select Cache.

6. Click (right side) Clear Memory Cache.

7. Click Clear Disc Cache. (To avoid this problem in future, select Every time at the bottom of the page.

8. Click OK to close the page.

To empty the Explorer 5 intermediate storage:

1. Select Tools > Internet options in the main menu.

2. Click General.

3. In the Temporary Internet files click Delete files. (To avoid this problem in future, click Settings, then Every visit to the page and OK.)
4. Click OK.

5. Open the RDC home page and click Login.
